MP Urges Rescheduling of Odisha Civil Services Exam Due to Cyclone Arnab
Cyclone Arnab disrupts Odisha, MP seeks exam reschedule. Aspirants face travel difficulties.

Koraput MP Saptagiri Sankar Ulaka has urged the Odisha Public Service Commission to reschedule the Odisha Civil Services Mains examination at the Jeypore centre due to disruptions caused by cyclone Arnab.
The cyclone has caused disruptions to power, transport, and train services, threatening a level playing field for aspirants from southern Odisha. Ulaka stated that candidates travelling from Koraput, Rayagada, Malkangiri, and Nabarangpur districts could face difficulties reaching the examination centre safely.
The reported cancellation of the Hirakhand Express and other train services has further complicated travel arrangements. Some candidates employed in essential services have also been denied leave until October 31 due to cyclone-related administrative requirements, potentially preventing them from appearing for the examination.
Ulaka suggested that the OPSC consider holding the examination at the Jeypore centre after normalcy was restored or revise the overall examination schedule. He emphasized the need to ensure a level playing field for all aspirants and sought an early decision to minimize uncertainty and hardship for candidates.
