Aaditya Thackeray Opposes Mumbai Floating Hoardings Plan
Aaditya Thackeray urges CM to scrap plan. Calls it 'ridiculous' and 'corrupt'.

Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray has urged Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to stop the proposed installation of floating advertising hoardings along Mumbai's coastline.
Thackeray called the move 'highly irresponsible' and warned that it would compromise the city's aesthetics. He described the proposal as a 'ridiculous and possibly corrupt idea' that prioritises the interests of advertising contractors over the city and its residents.
The proposed advertising locations include Juhu Beach, Lotus Jetty and the Bandra-Worli Sea Link jetty in Worli. Thackeray argued that Mumbai is already grappling with pollution and that the sea has become barely visible from several parts of the city.
He also questioned the proliferation of brightly illuminated LED hoardings across Mumbai and called for a comprehensive hoarding policy to regulate LED displays and restrict the overall number of advertisements across the city.
Thackeray alleged that the government is unwilling to spare even the sea from commercial advertising and criticised the brightness of existing LED screens, calling for their numbers to be reduced.
