Bhopal Prepares For Army Day Parade 2027 With ₹40 Crore Infrastructure
Bhopal gears up for historic parade, ₹40 crore infrastructure push

The city of Bhopal is preparing for the first National Army Day Parade, scheduled for January 15, 2027. The Public Works Department has begun infrastructure works worth around ₹40 crore.
The parade will feature four events at different venues, including the Boat Club, TT Nagar Stadium, BHEL Ground, and Jamburi Maidan. The Bhopal Municipal Corporation will be responsible for cleanliness, beautification, sanitation, and temporary sewage systems at all four venues.
A 3.5-km black-topped road is being constructed for the parade route, designed to accommodate tanks and other armoured vehicles weighing up to 60 tonnes. The state government is also preparing accommodation arrangements for the event, including reserving government guest houses and booking major hotels.
An air show will be held over the Upper Lake as part of the celebrations, in coordination with Army officials. The chief secretary has directed all departments to complete preparations within the stipulated timeline, with a deadline of December 1.
The Bhopal Municipal Corporation's budget for the event is yet to be finalised, but it is expected to be in the range of ₹1.5-2 crore. Officials will present their requirements at a meeting with Defence Ministry representatives on October 30 to seek funds for the arrangements.
