ISRO Bengaluru Headquarters Receives Second Hoax Bomb Threat

India's premier space research facility faced yet another security scare on Friday when a hoax bomb threat was reported at ISRO's Bengaluru headquarters, continuing a troubling pattern that emerged just the previous day.

The Indian Space Research Organisation's main campus became the target of a second false alarm within 48 hours, prompting immediate security protocols and investigative action. Authorities were quick to respond, though the threat was later determined to be a malicious false claim rather than a genuine emergency.

The repeated incidents have raised concerns about the agency's security perimeter and the growing menace of bomb hoaxes targeting critical infrastructure. Such threats disrupt operations at vital national institutions and consume significant law enforcement resources that could be deployed elsewhere.

False bomb threats at sensitive government facilities have become increasingly common across India, with pranksters and malicious individuals exploiting communication channels to cause panic and operational disruptions. ISRO, which plays a crucial role in India's space program and satellite communications, remains a high-profile target for such incidents.

Security agencies are now investigating both incidents to identify the perpetrators and establish whether the threats are connected. The investigation will examine communication records and threat patterns to prevent similar incidents in the future. Authorities have urged the public to report suspicious activities while warning against making false threats, which carry serious legal penalties including imprisonment and substantial fines under relevant criminal statutes.
