Abhijit Wanjari Wins Nagpur MLC Polls

Congress candidate Abhijit Wanjari has won the Maharashtra Legislative Council election from the Nagpur Division Graduates' Constituency. He secured a total of 67,231 votes, defeating his nearest rival, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Sudhakar Kohale, who secured 63,960 votes.

Wanjari credited his victory to the support of various organisations and the unity of his party. He said that despite the BJP exerting all its might, voters stood with the Congress.

The counting of votes began on October 27 and continued for over 41 hours before the final result was declared. Wanjari was presented with the certificate of election by Returning Officer and Divisional Commissioner Vijayalakshmi Bidari.
