Police detain classmate in Ketan Agarwal murder case over alleged prior knowledge

Police investigating the death of Ketan Agarwal have detained a youth from Beed district who is believed to have had advance knowledge of the alleged murder conspiracy, marking a significant development in the ongoing case.

The detained individual is identified as a classmate and close associate of Chetan Chaudhary, one of the two prime suspects in Agarwal's death. According to investigators, both Chaudhary and co-accused Siya Goyal confided details of their alleged plan to harm Agarwal to this youth before the incident occurred. Police sources indicate that the detainee, despite being informed about the conspiracy, had actually discouraged the accused from proceeding with their intentions.

The case took a dramatic turn when investigators discovered that the detained youth was contacted by both Chaudhary and Goyal following Agarwal's death on June 18. The nature and content of these communications have become crucial to the investigation, as they may provide insights into the accused's state of mind and movements immediately after the alleged crime. Police are examining whether the youth's prior knowledge constitutes criminal complicity or whether his post-incident contact with the accused was merely a consequence of their personal relationships.

Ketan Agarwal, a student, died after falling from a significant height at Lohagad Fort on June 18. What initially appeared to be an accidental death has evolved into a murder investigation following revelations about the accused's alleged motive and planning. The involvement of additional persons in the investigation has expanded the scope of the probe, as authorities seek to establish the complete chain of events leading up to the incident.

The detention of this associate adds another dimension to the case, raising questions about whether other individuals connected to the accused may have been aware of or involved in the circumstances surrounding Agarwal's death. Police continue their interrogation to determine the extent of his knowledge and any potential role in the alleged crime. The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to establish a comprehensive account of the events that led to the tragic death at the fort.
